Today, the ripple effect of information and communication technologies has brought about a variety of changes across the society, creating new values.

In particular, with the rapid development of satellite communication and broadcasting, space radio wave resources are emerging as an important factor in production, and the demand for such radio waves is rapidly increasing day by day.

Countries around the world are fiercely competing with each other to secure space radio wave resources such as satellite orbit and frequency.

As for Korea, it has become necessary to secure space radio wave resources as measures against new demand for satellite usage in the mid to secure space radio wave resources such as satellite orbit and frequency.

To this end, the Satellite Radio Monitoring Center(SRMC) has been working to establish an order in using space radio waves such as measuring the orbital position of satellites over the Asia-Pacific territory and detecting locations emitting harmful satellite radio waves.

Also, there is a collaborative system in place between the industry, academia, research institutes and the government to prevent any damages from the interference of space radio waves and ensure efficient use of those radio resources.

The SRMC will make continuous efforts to contribute to the development of the satellite industry by securing satellite orbits, acquiring and protecting frequencies and accumulating related technologies.
